Hillary Carrigan (she/her) is an American filmmaker/editor based in New York City. Best known for her contributions in post-production as an Assistant Editor of feature-length films (“The Devil Wears Prada 2”, “Babygirl”, “You Hurt My Feelings”), she also works as an editor and voice actor. She is a member of The Motion Picture Editors Guild and SAG-AFTRA. Valentino once said, "an act of beauty is an act of hope." As a filmmaker, the importance and power of beauty, the arts, education, identity, and humanity are all themes she strives to validate through her work. She was a recipient of The Inwood Art Works Filmmaker Fund and winner of The Creative Heights Society grant for "Nana" the first short film she wrote and directed. She is set to direct “Off-Center”, a short film rooted in the world of ballet (2026).
Though Carrigan utilizes non-linear editing software in her work as an AVID Media Composer & Adobe Premiere Pro editor, as a video-artist she finds hand-crafted, hands-on processes like hand-tinting celluloid, traditional cel animation, and chemical processing an exciting place to explore as she seeks to craft films that marry her passion for experimental filmmaking with her traditional, fictional, narrative sensibilities.
“Hillary was the soul of the movie.”
